Charitable Giving
The Gift of Giving
The retirement years can be the most fulfilling years of life, and Royal Oaks is fortunate to have such generous donors to help facilitate the means of support and services to provide comfort, security and life satisfaction for the residents. Generosity is the core of our community.
Royal Oaks has three areas of need – the Foundation, Capital Improvement Fund and Scholarship Fund. Donations to any of these areas are tax deductible as charitable contributions to a 501(c)(3) organization.
People of Faith Foundation (The Foundation)
The Foundation is committed to the belief that aging with dignity and grace includes freedom from financial worry. The Foundation strengthens the mission of Royal Oaks by providing financial support to residents through a confidential financial assistance program for those who can no longer partially or entirely pay for their residency. Since 2000, the Foundation has subsidized more than $2 million to provide care and support to residents.
Capital Improvement Fund
The Capital Improvement Fund was established in 1996, and through the generosity of our donors the fund has contributed more than $2.5 million to Royal Oaks to enhance the campus and provide such necessities as: wheelchair accessible transportation vans, hi-lo beds in the Health Care Center, a Cadillac to elegantly transport residents, a vision magnifier to assist residents in reading, automatic doors throughout the campus, a piano for the front lobby, remodeling the Health Care Center and construction of the Assisted Living Facility.
Employee Scholarship Fund
The Employee Scholarship Fund was established to assist employees with their pursuit of continuing education, college degrees, certifications and professional development. Employees may qualify after meeting certain criteria and petitioning the Scholarship Committee. Employees are also required to maintain an acceptable GPA throughout their education and uphold their employment status at Royal Oaks for a specified time period following completion of their classes. Scholarships totaling more than $150,000 have been awarded to employees over the past seven years.
Ways to Give
